LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Eagle News) — It was another great Sunday afternoon for Vegas hockey fans as the Golden Knights came back home from a one-game road trip in Anaheim, California to face off the Vancouver Canucks.

In front of a raucous crowd of 18,303, the Golden Knights blanked the Canucks 3-0, extending their winning streak to four games.

With the game scoreless after the first period, the Golden Knights controlled the second period as they outshot the Canucks 22-8 en route to three goals in the period. Goals were scored by Max Pacioretty, Ryan Carpenter, and Reilly Smith.

Vancouver failed to score and, at the end of two periods, the Golden Knights controlled the action with their relentless defense and play of their goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury, who recorded his seventh shutout of the season.

The Golden Knights recorded their second straight shutout and continue to solidify their spot in the playoffs with 15 games to go in the regular season.

The Vancouver Canucks have lost five of their last six games and find their playoff chances dwindling fast. They are currently seven points out of the last wild-card spot.

The Golden Knights next game is at home on Wednesday versus the first place Calgary Flames. The Canucks return home on Wednesday to face the Toronto Maple Leafs.
