LAS VEGAS (Eagle News) — An emotional Sarah Geronimo at the middle part of her “THIS 15 ME” concert in Las Vegas held at the Cannery Hotel and Casino apologized to the audience for crying as she reflected on her journey of 15 years in the industry remembering the struggles and heartaches that come along with achieving fame.

After rendering a couple of opening songs Geronimo started to talk about her journey. The pop star said from the young age of seven she already wanted to sing with strong support from her parents. She recalls her father telling her one day after failing an audition not to let anyone push her around and to always be strong.

More auditions followed where her hopes and dreams just didn’t quite pan out until finally she came out as the winner of Star For A Night singing “To Love You More.” Geronimo said people started calling her the “Pop Star Princess” after that. “Then came TV castings, pictorials, recordings and lights, camera, action – the movies,” she said.

Part of her story telling included how she felt so inspired by Michael Jackson to learn how to dance and sure enough the very talented Geronimo showed off her “M.J.” dance skills.

Then Geronimo continued to bare her soul to the audience in between songs saying “I feel empty” despite all the fame, power and wealth. But shortly after added that someone told her to stop looking for self fulfillment, accept her talents as a gift from God instead and to use it to inspire others. She said she realized that “success is not what you have but is what you give.”

The young pop star continued to struggle with her emotions as she tried to sing her trademark song, “Forever’s Not Enough” until she couldn’t help from walking off the stage before finishing it. She eventually returned to the stage with full composure performing with Sam Concepcion and Mark Bautista, other Filipino performers, and the concert went on for another 8-9 more songs.

EBC later reached out for a statement from her U.S. promoter, Rochelle Lubna with International Concert Management.

“Sarah definitely did not disappoint,” Lubna said. “Even though she was exhausted she was only worried about not being able

to give it her all for the sake of her fans.”

With tears running down her face, Geronimo apologized to the audience saying, “I know you paid a lot to get here.” Lubna said her tears did not come from feeling “empty inside” but from an overwhelming joy of realizing she is Sarah Geronimo who is much loved by her fans even from this side of the world.
