PROVIDENCE, RI (Eagle News) — To help boost the local economy, guests who stay at participating hotels in Rhode Island will receive another added perk to their travel itinerary. The “GoProvidence Pass” program will gift guests with a $100 reward card to book and stay at participating hotels.

The program aims to encourage hotel bookings which will in turn support neighboring businesses. Some of the participating Providence hotels include Courtyard by Marriott, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, and Hotel Providence.

Governor Dan McKee, the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau (PWCVB), and Rhode Island Commerce launched this program to boost consumer spending, especially to assist small businesses hardest-hit by the pandemic.

“The tourism industry in Providence is at the beginning of a slow climb back to pre-pandemic levels,” said PWCVB President and CEO Kristen Adamo.

Recipients can then use the reward card at approximately 80 businesses, stores and restaurants. Some museums and local attractions are also included in the promotion such as the RISD Museums, Roger Williams Zoo & Carousel Village, and Taste of Africa Market, to name a few.

“This partnership directly supports our local small businesses who are the foundation of our community,” said Providence Mayor Jorge O. Elorza. “As our city continues to recover, I encourage residents and visitors to experience our world-class hotels and restaurants to stimulate our local economy and enjoy everything Providence has to offer.”
