(Eagle News) — Truckers and protesters continue to block the streets near Parliament Hill in the Canadian capital city of Ottawa.

Transport trucks from the Freedom Convoy began arriving Friday night.

The protest is now in its third full day.

The demonstration has created traffic problems and police have closed several roads.

There have been transit delays and business disruptions.

Inter provincial bridges that connect Ottawa and Gatineau, Quebec are closed.

O-C Transpo is rerouting buses out of the city core due to the ongoing protests.

Several routes that travel east and south of downtown have also been changed due to the protests.

The Rideau Center in the downtown area remains closed due to the demonstration.

The city has advised residents to avoid non-essential travel, especially in the downtown core.

Some of the city services have been affected by the demonstration.

Ottawa City Hall will remain closed to public access because of its close proximity to the protest.

A COVID-19 Vaccination clinic at the University of Ottawa has been shut down as well.

A heavy police presence remains in the downtown area.

Ottawa report multiple cases of disruptive, inappropriate and threatening behaviour from demonstrators.
