Papua New Guinea, Fiji unite to speak on behalf of Pacific Island countries

PAPUA NEW GUINEA (Eagle News) — Prime MinisterJames Marape of Papua New Guinea and Prime Minister Sitivini Rabuka of Fiji consolidate their stand to unite and speak on behalf of the smaller Pacific island countries.

The two leaders will raise issues of investment and trade, climate change, labour mobility and employment with India and the United States at the upcoming Forum for India Pacific Islands Cooperation Monday.

U.S. President Joe Biden canceled his trip to Papua New Guinea to deal with the debt ceiling issues in his country. U.S. Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken is scheduled to attend instead.
