(Eagle News) — One of two suspects being sought by police in a stabbing rampage that killed 10 people and injured 18 others in northern Saskatchewan has been found dead, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Monday.

“It was confirmed by Saskatchewan RCMP forensic investigations section that the deceased is Damien Sanderson,” RCMP Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore told a news conference.

His injuries don’t appear to be self-inflicted, she added.

Sanderson, 31, and his brother Myles Sanderson, were the subject of a manhunt by police.

Myles Sanderson, aged 30, still remains at large.

Blackmore says Myles may have sustained injuries and may seek medical attention.

“We do want the public to know this because there is a possibility he may seek medical attention,” she added. “Even if he is injured, it does not mean he is not still dangerous.”
