(Eagle News) — Canada’s list of terrorist entities has four new names.

“Recent events in our communities should remove any doubts about the serious threat posed by ideologically-motivated violent extremism in Canada,” Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said Friday on Twitter.

Two of the entries are ideologically motivated violent extremist groups — the Three Percenters and Aryan Strikeforce.

Also added to the list is an American neo-Nazi identified as James Mason. Mason has provided the two groups with instructions on how to operate a terrorist organization.

As well, a newly listed Daesh affiliate has been added — the Islamic State – Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Once an entity is listed, it is by definition considered to be a “terrorist group” under the Criminal Code, and its property is automatically frozen.

A listing can also support the denial or revocation of a Canadian organization’s charitable status if it maintains connections to listed entities.

People may be denied entry into Canada if they are found to be associated with a listed entity.

“Intolerance and hate have no place in Canada, and we will continue to make it our top priority to keep Canadians safe from terrorism and violent extremism,” Blair tweeted.

Members of the Three Percenters have been accused by US authorities of plotting to kidnap Michigan’s governor and face conspiracy charges in relation to the deadly US Capitol riot on January 6.

Aryan Strikeforce members in Britain and the United States, meanwhile, have been convicted of producing chemical weapons and planning a suicide bombing of counter-protesters at a rally in Pennsylvania in 2016.
