LOS Angeles, California (Reuters) — Gaming fans at E3 2017 in Los Angeles over the weekend saw Microsoft present their new console, which they say is ‘the world’s most powerful.’

On stage at the annual gaming conference the computer giant revealed the Xbox One X, a fully featured 4K player, formerly code-named ‘Project Scorpio’.

In a press release Microsoft said the Xbox One X ‘was designed to be the best console to create and play games on, putting the greatest graphic fidelity in the hands of the world’s best game creators to create true 4K games.’

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer also made clear that all games will play across the Xbox One family – with the Xbox One enhancing the experience.

The company also impressed the crowds with a raft of new games, including ‘Forza Motorsport 7’ which will launch on the new console, as well as an updated ‘Minecraft’ and new ‘Assassin’s Creed’.

E3 offcially runs from June 13-15, 2017, with all major players in the gaming industry showcasing their work.
