Malaysian PM Mahathir arrives in PHL for official visit

(Eagle News)—Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is in the Philippines for an official visit.

Mahathir arrived at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City on Wednesday, March 6, around 7 p.m., Philippine time.

Mahathir is expected to  hold a bilateral meeting with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacañang.

According to the Presidential Communications Operations Office, Duterte and Mahathir are expected to discuss matters covering “the economy, trade and investments, people-to-people exchanges, and other areas of mutual cooperation.”

The prime minister is also expected to meet Philippine Senate President Tito Sotto and Speaker Gloria Arroyo.

This is Mahathir’s first visit to the Philippines since he was reelected as Malaysia’s prime minister in 2018.
